Food for Thought: The Essential Nutrition

Dr. Madhureeta (Reeta) Achari, MD

Our bodies rely on our diet to provide the fuel to function. Surprisingly, some of the popular diets aren’t very good for us.

Please join us as Dr. Madhureeta (Reeta) Achari, MD, a neurologist and long-time cook who – when she found that some of her patients’ health issues were associated with their eating habits — began writing recipes in addition to prescriptions. Dr. Achari hopes to stave off epidemics of diabetes, coronary heart disease and childhood obesity by raising awareness of the benefits of healthy eating.

Dr. Achari received her MD from UT McGovern Medical School in Houston and did her internship, neurology residence, and fellowship in epilepsy/neurophysiology there as well. She has been practicing nutritional neurology for over a decade and is co-chair of the Nutrition Committee of the American Academy of Neurology.

We look forward to seeing you by Zoom on Tuesday, April 27.
