SETxGWEP Zoom Presentation
DO YOU KNOW WHAT SETxGWEP IS?
HINT: IT STANDS FOR SOUTH EAST TEXAS GERIATRIC WORKFORCE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
The doubling of life expectancy over the last 100 years has raised concerns and questions about healthy aging. Older adults require distinct care considerations because single-disease treatment guidelines are not developed with consideration for the complexity that comes with age — e.g. multiple chronic conditions, cognitive impairment — rendering traditional approaches unsuitable and even harmful to older adults.
The SETxGWEP is part of a national network of 48 GWEP programs across 35 states and 2 territories (Guam and Puerto Rico), the purpose of which is to train the healthcare workforce to deliver age-friendly care that is sensitive to the unique care considerations of older adults.
You are invited to an HGS Zoom panel presentation at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021, at which local GWEP faculty members will explain their programs and how you can get involved.
