Robyn Horn will speak on CMS Equity Plan for Medicare: Implications for Seniors with Health Disparities Ms. Horn will provide an overview of the CMS comprehensive and solution-driven approach to improving the health of Medicare beneficiaries who  experience a disproportionately high burden of disease, worse quality of care, and barriers to accessing care.

Robyn Horn is the owner of H.I.S. Cornerstone, a company that provides continuing education for nurses, social workers and certified case managers who work with the elderly and their families. Robyn has a Master’s degree in Long-Term Care Administration from University of North Texas as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She served as a licensed nursing home administrator for 13 years, which included two years at an Alzheimer’s assisted living facility. In addition, Robyn has facilitated several caregiver support groups in both facility and community settings.

Contact hours will be offered: university of texas houston health science center at houston school of nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the texas nurses association approver, an accredited approver by the american nurses credentialing centers commission on accreditation. This activity provides 1.0 contact hours of nursing continuing education and social work education.
